Under the leadership of the department director, the Pediatrics/Med Surg Zone Educator is responsible for providing formal and informal education programs for the staff of Main West with planning assistance from the Management Team of the respective departments. The Pediatrics/Med Surg Zone Educator possesses a broad scope of knowledge and skills to facilitate improved patient outcomes and improved staff performance in the clinical setting. The Pediatrics/Med Surg Zone Educator possesses the skills and knowledge to competently provide the appropriate services to patients and staff.

Must be currently licensed to practice in the State of California with no less than 3 years in the last 5 years of acute care experience, and experienced in formal and informal teaching of adult learners.
MSN preferred. Minimum of BSN or currently enrolled in formal BSN program or enrolled in courses that can be applied to completion of formal BSN program.
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS (required). NRP and PALS certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment. Specialty certification related to pediatric or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
