Position Summary

Responsible for systems analysis, process/workflow optimization, software implementation, and support for all applications maintained by the Health Information Technology (HIT) department. Serves as the liaison between staff, technology teams, and support teams. Works collaboratively to ensure the effective performance of the various systems. Coordinates aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality to ensure efficient processes. Gathers and analyzes data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings; complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Required Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Sciences, Health Information Systems, or Business Management. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of five years experience supporting technology systems.
  • Thorough understanding of industry standard message formats (e.g. HL7, X12, and XML).
  • Prior experience with system analysis and system administration.
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
  • Experience with report writing tools, preferably SSRS.
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
  • Significant experience troubleshooting proprietary software.
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems.

Preferences:

  • Experience in project management preferred
