Position Summary

Principal Trainers work with the training manager, application coordinators, and application managers to develop and maintain the training program for the roles in their application. Principal Trainers that work on applications that train physicians also work with specialty champions. Principal Trainers do not teach; rather, they create the training environment that is then taught by Credentialed Trainers.

Skills, Characteristics, and Responsibilities

· Customer Service oriented

· Proficient in the organization's Epic workflows

· Develop and implement a role-based training program

· Building, testing, and maintaining the training environment

· Creating and maintaining training materials

· Training and credentialing additional classroom trainers if needed

· Maintaining policy and procedure documentation

· Planning for ongoing post-live training

· Ability to develop a detailed understanding of workflows and system configuration

· Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills

· Strong organizational skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

· A strong belief in the value of the Epic install

· The ability to write well


· Demonstrated experience in education program planning and development required

· Ability to assess staff training needs and deliver excellent written materials as well as oral presentations required

· Experience and proven skill set with the MS Office Suite required


· BS or Master's degree preferred


· This position requires Epic certification be received within 90 days of hire

Other Expectations

· Must be willing to work occasional weekends

· Must be willing to work a flexible schedule

· This position will require travel to receive necessary training to receive Epic certification
